This workshop will help you develop the basic skills and knowledge of apertures, shutter speeds,
camera functions, compositional rules and tips for taking better photographs.
This workshop will be conducted indoors in a convenient location (a café for example),
although home visits can be arranged dependent on distance required for travel.

This workshop will help you practice camera skills gained in the Camera Techniques Workshop, photographing moving animals in the field and learning about certain species in relation to behaviours and composition for effective wildlife photography.
Anyone already skilled with a camera is also very welcome to book this workshop
to further their understanding and practice of wildlife photography,
to which I am open to focussing on particular species if desired.

- North Oxfordshire wetlands at sunrise: chances of grass snake, common lizard, crane, lapwing, brown hare, weasel, reed bunting, repoll, marsh tit, roe deer, red fox, muntjac deer, red kite, marsh harrier, sparrowhawk
- South Oxfordshire River Thames at sunset: chances of kingfisher, barn owl, sparrowhawk, kestrel, buzzard, red kite, roe deer, yellowhammer, corn bunting, otter
- South Oxfordshire chalk grasslands: chances of brown hare, red kites, skylarks, roe deer, buzzard, kestrel, red kite, butterfly species
- South Oxfordshire Woodlands: chances of Muntjac deer, roe deer, fallow deer, badger, red fox, red kite, greater spotted woodpecker, woodland birds
Berkshire
- Heathland in spring/summer: chances of adder, dartford warbler, stone chat, green woodpecker, red kite, common lizard, lapwing
- Northern woodlands in any season: chances of muntjac deer, kingfisher, red fox, greater spotted woodpecker, woodland birds
- South Oxfordshire chalk grasslands: chances of brown hare, red kites, skylarks, roe deer, buzzard, kestrel, butterfly species
2-4 hours: £60 - £90 pp

Prices shown are per person where groups will not exceed 4 people.
Prices reflect the workshop on the day, plus prior research and site visits to confirm
the frequent presence of the desired photography species, if you have identified one during booking.
Species sightings
Sightings and photography of advertised wildlife cannot be guaranteed, although every effort will be made
in advance of your workshop to find a location with recurrent visits of a particular species if you have identified one during booking.
Should you be interested in photographing a particular species that cannot be found in advance of your workshop, you will be offered the opportunity to rebook your workshop for a later date when the species has been confirmed frequently visiting a particular location.
Transport
Own transport will be required.
Clothing & Equipment
Please ensure that all clothing and footwear worn during workshops is neutral in colour (nothing bright and/or reflective).
Suitable clothing should be worn during outdoor workshops relevant to the season:
Cold/wet weather: Layered and thick clothing; waterproofs; wellies/walking boots; hat & gloves as desired.
Warm/sunny weather: Layered clothing including full length trousers should walks through vegetation be required;
hat; suncream; sunglasses as desired; waterproofs should be carried in case of showers.
